THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW

GREAT MANNERS
Never make a jest of important things.
Never crack jokes to the hurt of others.
Make sure that when you correct people
you are not constantly guilty of such offences
because actions are more exemplary than words.

Do not use foul language against people.
Do not be too quick to believe bad reports
about people and do not spread bad reports either.
Do not eat in the streets, or in the house, out of season.

Do not associate yourself with people of bad quality
if you esteem your own reputation.
It is better to be alone than in bad company.

Let your Conversation be without malice or envy,
for 'tis a sign of a tractable and commendable nature:
And in all causes of passion admit reason to govern.
Don't say sad or horrible things like death and blood
when people are rejoicing.

Don't boast about your achievements,
what your parents have, where you come from
or what you are good at.
Don't give people reasons to spite you
or be envious for no just cause.
