CHOOSING A SPOUSE
It's interesting, if not pitiful, how some Christians have come to the conclusion that God no longer tells anyone whom to marry, after Adam blamed "the woman YOU gave me" (Genesis 3:12), when the Lord asked why he ate the fruit he had been instructed not to eat. They say God simply doesn't have a hand in anyone's choice of a life partner any longer. That's so unscriptural, and couldn't be further from the truth.
For starters, the Bible says in Romans 8:14 (KJV), "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God." This clearly shows that God still guides/leads His people, and the guidance he provides is not exclusive of the choice of a spouse.
Imagine that Eliezar, Abraham's lieutenant, prayed a simple prayer when he was burdened with choosing a wife for his boss' son, Isaac. That prayer from a man who didn't really have a relationship with the God of Abraham, was answered. Genesis 24:42-46 KJV. The answer came so quickly that it should make believers in the Lord Jesus somewhat ashamed, who say God has no hand any longer in the all-important decision on whom to marry, just because they don't seem to find it easy to hear God.
If Eliezar could pray and get his prayer answered, it should be easier for us who live under a covenant that has come with having God's Spirit live right inside of us and be one with our spirit, to hear God clearly and be guided by His Spirit smoothly in choosing whom to marry. In those days, they didn't have the Holy Spirit inside them, so they relied on signs. These days, we rely on the Holy Spirit Who lives in us. So, Beloved, just ask Him to guide you, and trust Him to do so. He doesn't fail. You will make the right choice if you do. That's guaranteed.
God bless you!
